Amelia has been taking summer swim classes at our local high school. Today will start the fourth and final week of classes, and I can't believe how much she has learned. She started the classes three weeks ago completely unwilling to put her face in the water, unwilling to try anything, and when she did let go of the wall, she clung to her teacher. Now she loves using the kickboard by herself and will bob her head under the water. We are so used to her being fearless that we were amazed that she didn't jump right in and take off like she does with everything else. She really loves being in the pool, and it was so nice to be able to see her gain confidence and skills over the last few weeks. She improved every day, and now we are going to look for a year-round swim class for her to take (and somehow squeeze it in with gymnastics and Chinese school!).
