Today is St. Patrick's Day, and Amelia has been talking for weeks about making a leprechaun trap. We saw the idea in Family Fun magazine. The idea is that if you catch a leprechaun, they have to tell you where they keep their gold. She has been very excited about this, and has even made plans for the gold. We made the trap, which we made to look like a little leprechaun hat. Daddy made the little ladder, and since leprechauns like to break rules, we put out a sign that tells leprechauns NOT to climb the ladder. We put gold coins on the tops of the hat, but underneath the coins, unbeknownst to the leprechaun, is a little trap door. When the leprechaun climbs up to take the coins, he will fall through the door (we made sure that the trap was nice and soft so that the leprechaun would not get hurt). Well, it turns out that leprechauns are hard to catch! We definitely had one in our trap last night, but instead of finding the leprechaun, we only found what he left behind. The trap was full of gold chocolate coins and a little note that says "Hee Hee Hee, Can't catch me!" I am sure we will be trying again next year!

I love it! I might have to still that idea for my girls next year. Amelia must have had a blast.
